The evolution of the company of wine people has been made complete with the change from the name Omnia Wines by which the company has been known for the past 18 months. In finding an appropriate name to change to, we looked at factors that best reflect our business ethos. We found the perfect answer in the company of wine people. No other name does justice to our ethos of being an organisation of people with genuine pride and passion for wine. The name also fits with our company philosophy of challenging traditional models, by creating a welcoming, authentic and personal environment where excellence is achievable through open relationships.

Like Vinfruco, Stellenbosch Vineyards made the export market its primary focus, and by 1997 more than 60% of its turnover was derived from export sales. In 1998, the company launched Versus. It was the most successful wine launch in the South African market and has since been introduced into the international market. The merger of Vinfruco and Stellenbosch Vineyards as Omnia Wines in October 2004 heralded the start of a new journey: Of shared purpose and passion - to focus on brand marketing and customer relationships.

The top 10 shareholders control approximately 75% of the shares.
